Entry or Entrée…

Gals, it’s one of those most anticipated times of the year again (no, not the Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival) : ) It’s that time of the year again for the April issue of Cleo featuring the ooh-la-la droolfest entrées of Cleo’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelors 2006 ! Okay…so I wouldn’t say that all 50 of them are the biggest hunks walking these pothole filled roads of Malaysia but…

And since one of my friends is on this year’s bachelor line-up, me and another gal pal have been commissioned to spread the word amongst the womenfolk! : ) So, simply vote for him by clicking here, or u can simply do it the old fashioned way by purchasing the latest issue of Cleo off the stands for RM5.60, flipping to the relevant page bearing the voting form, snipping the form off the page with a pair of scissors, filling in your particulars, writing No. 8 (pat) in that small box on the top portion of the form, get it on a postcard, affix a stamp and voila! You’re ready to roll… And just to erase any doubts nibbling there on your voting fingers, Mr. 8 is much better looking in real life than in his pic. (ok there, i said it) You can also vote for the subsidiary titles as well - everyone deserves a chance now don’t they?

So what are you waiting for, gals? : ) Oh, and not forgetting guys and other living forms of bachelor closet fans who regularly or irregularly buy Cleo. In the phrase of Abraham Lincoln: "Democracy is a government (ok so this isn’t exactly a government but just pretend you’re voting for one) "of the people, by the people, and for the people."          * * So vote, people : ) * *

Ok, Linko. How many brownie points do I get for this blogger promo-fest? After dinner party passes! (Jacinta) After dinner party passes! (Joanne) Hee hee…

Freak out…

Whooh, it’s Friday again but instead of being relaxed I’m more stressed up than ever! My to-do list seems to be growing larger by the day and there’s nothing i can do to tick off the tasks like i used to…Looks like the files are piling on and the work is getting more diverse. Old files, new files. Rush this, rush that. Every client’s work is urgent. Oooh…how i hate that word.

Anyhows…on the bright side, the weekend is here! Me & joeeey will be goin off to the Isle of Fake Lions together tommorow to meet our respective other halves - hehe. I’ll be going to Sentosa for some much needed REM (Raving Ecstatic Madness). I’ll also be taking Monday off from work ~ which is kinda the reason why i’m trying to rush through all my work today. Hmm…some people are even luckier! They’re staying in boutique hotels and goin to Bintan - home of some of the world’s best spas and even have an additonal day off!! *Eyes turning green* (hey cool - then i can do without coloured contacts!) Let’s hope i get to do some decent shopping this time round ; )

Merlions, mermen, mermaids - here we come : D

Have a nice weekend, everyone!

When pigs fly…

On a happier note, had some happy times with friends on Wednesday and Thursday : )

On Wednesday evening, met up with one of my dearest pals, Yien and her friend (and a friend of her friend and a friend of the friend of her friend) at KLCC for dinner. Her friend (the 1st one) wanted to try more Malaysian food so we headed over to that eatery where the number of people waiting are like the number of jobs queuing at my office printer. Anyhows, I just realised something that night and it was the strawberries in the iced water jugs. OMG they were HUGE!! I didn’t realise them at first but my friend just HAD to point them out : ) And they were just floating there, leaves stems and all.

Y : " Do you think the strawberries are suffering from water retention? They must have absorbed all the water. Otherwise they wouldn’t be so huge!!"

J : " What happens if one of them plonks into the water glass as the waitress is pouring? It would create such a big splash! "

Y : " Just pour the whole glass back into the jug, i suppose "

Nicely said : ) Now our next question is, do they recycle those huge critters?

  All porks go to heaven…

Thursday was GSC’s birthday : ) So the usual suspects (and an unusual one aka the one that paid) headed on to Euro Deli for her buffday lunch. Mrmmm i love that place !! (apologies to my Muslim friends, this entry may not be so erm..halal) But as a tip for anyone who has never been there, please resist the urge to order just salad - no matter how cheap it is! It simply defeats the porky purpose : p

And in the evening at tea-time, the same usual suspects (minus some who had to go for Due D and one who had to be in another firm) gathered in GSC’s room with a buffday cake! The cake which PC & joeey made a pit-stop at La Manila to buy (after much anguish vide phone calls & attempts to order) was Chocolate Indulgence. Thereafter we had the ritualistic light candle-sing birthday song-blow candle-make a wish-take photo-cut cake-eat cake ceremony ; )

Yep, all that talking bout food is making me hungry… Oh and btw, did u know that French for pig is cochon? And the title of this entry translates to quand les porcs volent. *snort* *guffaw* *snort* *oink*

Oranges & Lemons…

*Sigh* Whatta way to start an entry, huh? The fruits above reflect the current shade status of my hair (minus the green of course, God forbid). I just had to do something with it (as always - i’ve been to the salon 3 times this week already!!) So last night i decided to have it coloured & highlighted, something not alien and which i do all the time. Unfortunately for me, not all stylists/colourists actually seem to understand the term "Darker undertone", "More obvious highlights" and "You choose a shade that suits me" (this was all they heard i think).

So happily they went about their mixing and plastering it on my hair and all. I never suspected a thing until about half an hour into the whole thing when suddenly i realised my hair looked a tad too orange for my liking. And it wasn’t the highlights, which weren’t even visible coz they were wrapped in foils. Anyhowwww…the real blow came when they finally washed everything off and *great big shriek* i realised my hair was much lighter than i wanted it to be. The stylist even said "Wow. That’s really nice. Your highlights can’t really be seen ‘coz (get this) the best colour for your skin tone is so light!"

Eeeek. Anyhow, what was i to do? The damage was done, i couldn’t exactly scream at them "Please undo this harajuku girl colour from my head !!" Sigh, sigh & sigh again. I thought i looked like a girl with a rebonded Garfield on her head. Nevermind, i told myself, i’ll probably get used to it.

This morning when i woke up, i still wasn’t used to it. I’m probably gonna get some lowlights in my hair soon. Or maybe i’ll just go all gothic and dye the whole thing black. Or as a last resort, I could migrate to Tokyo : ) 素晴らしい !

Strings attached…

Tying the knot anytime soon?                                         Chevy rings : )

Just attended a cousin’s wedding over the weekend and it suddenly made me realise that i’ve been attending weddings so frequently in the past 2 years the magic of weddings has almost lost its lustre already! : ) But maybe that’s coz i haven’t attended any of my close friends’ weddings as yet… Well, that’s easily taken care of as i know of some people who are getting hitched soon ; )

One memorable thing about weddings is of course the Bachelor Party…and of course its female equivalent the Hen Night!! In Malaysia these sorta functions are not restricted to close friends of the same gender but instead open to all close family and friends. Haha which makes me wonder how the heck are we gonna get that male stripper to attend for *ahem* someone’s wedding? Wait til all the aunties and uncles have made their way home to bed? Even if he doesn’t do the full monty i am so sure the person responsible for bringing the Fireman/Policeman/Plumber in won’t get off lightly *lol*

Well…we’ll just wait and see with whoever that says "I do" and "Adieu" first ;o)

Life is…

Yay yay : ) am goin to Zouk tonite for the Levi’s Free to Move party : ) Haven’t been clubbin’ for a while…due to unforseen circumstances heh. I probably won’t like the music there - seeing that I’m more a fan of danceable rather than trance-like music. But it’s alright, its okie… : ) We’ve got free passes so it would be such a sin to put them to waste ; p We’re supposed to be clad in Levi’s…but coming straight from work - i don’t think so!

Dance, Dance We’re falling apart to half time Dance, Dance And these are the lives you’d love to lead Dance, this is the way they’d love If they knew how misery loved me

So much about dancing As for drinking, I will be driving so you know what they say :

Don’t drink and drive. You may spill your drink.

All aboard…

For those of you who are (like me) very poor but still wanna travel! : ) Cheaper way to get to KLIA, in the face of the recent hike of petrol prices, is via the ERL. But the price may still seem unattractive to some, so here’s a further way to save money. Sent to me sometime in June last year but rediscovered today due to inbox housekeeping : )

Do you know that you can travel from KL Sentral to
KLIA for as low as
RM12.50 instead of the normal fare of RM35.00?

Can’t blame you for not believing that this is
possible.
A closer examination on the ERL fare structure using
the link below will
reveal the following weakness

Sentral(1) –> Bdr. Tasik Selatan(2) RM 4.20
Sentral(1) –> Putrajaya(3) RM 9.50
Sentral(1) –> Salak Tinggi(! 4) RM 12.50
Sentral(1) –> KLIA(5) RM 35.00

But,
Bdr. Tasik Selatan –> Putrajaya RM5.30
Putrajaya - -> KLIA RM6.20

So to save money on fares

1. Either take the ERL to Putrajaya for RM9.50. Get
down and buy another
ticket from Putrajaya to KLIA for RM6.20. Total cost
works out to RM15.70
instead of RM35.00
The inconvenience is having to wait for the next
train for about 15
mins(peak) or 20 mins(non-peak). But the substantial
saving of RM19.30 per
person may be worthwhile.

Or

2. Take the Komuter to Bdr. Tasik Selatan for only
RM1.00. From here take
the ERL to Putrajaya for RM5.30. Get down and buy
another ERL ticket to KLIA
for RM6.20. The total costs add up to only RM12.50
instead of RM35.00. This
option is cheaper by RM3.20 but the additional
hassle may not be worth the
additional saving.

ERL is banking on the fact that despite this
apparent weakness in the fare
structure, nob! ody will take advantage of it mainly
because everybody is in
such a hurry nowadays!

But then who knows, with escalating prices, more
people may take advantage
of this in future.

There’s also some kinda promo goin on for the Formula 1 race this weekend so u can check both out and compare : )

Departures/Arrivals…

Oh yeah, speaking bout Paris

there’s gonna be a MATTA fair coming up at PWTC this weekend from 17-19 March. Am lookin to book a holiday to Hong Kong, but nothing’s concrete/solid yet. Other alternatives are Bangkok and a re-visit to Bali sometime this year to make purchases of certain items ; )

Jeez…that looks like all i can afford rite now as my pocket is a bit strained at the mo having just recently bought a home & a plan (with sizeable reasons) to change the vehicle i drive soon… *sighs* don’t we all wish we had morrre money, honey : P

Donations in any form and amount are welcome. Please make your cheques/money orders payable to "the Jacinta fund". We thank you gratuitously for your kind attention and when determining the amount to be donated, please kindly adopt the *Give ’til it hurts* principle. Many thanks : )

You drive me…

Its 6.30pm and im having my dinner of McD’s now, which a dear colleague has voluntarily gone out and bought back for me. Sighs…its probably gonna be another long nite. My door is locked to avoid any unnecessary…interruptions. Some people are very rude. Even though you’re eating they can come into your room and pretend like they don’t see that your mouth is full, your eyes are rolling and you’ll explode if you dont quickly swallow your food.

Now where was I before the food came? Oh yes… Its on days like these that I feel like screaaaamiiing my lungs out : ( Coz there are a certain species of humans in this world who just can’t learn their lesson no matter how many taps of the ruler they receive on their hand (or how big the ruler is, for that matter) : ) *sighs* Sometime you just wished that adults should behave the way they’re supposed to behave and not act like some kinda half-boiled egg or something (heh). Especially when its so dead obvious they’re repeating mistakes like a parrot with no compassion. And especially so when their mistakes affect others more than they affect these soft eggs. The motto of these eggs must be "Delegate, delegate, delegate" ie. delegate duties, delegate blame and delegate mistakes. Hah, in fact delegate everything except appreciation, knowledge and a fair division of wealth. Whoops, now i bet everyone knows whom i’m referring to *lol* Well it’s true what they say…a tiger never changes its stripes. Unless u attempt to give it a bleach job or the like and no matter - coz the regrowth will always show *grin*

PS : Honda fans, check out the new Honda Civic Rising Spirit, out in stores now. Quite beautiful in the pics (as always), altho have not seen the physical machine as yet : ) Price also not bad, didn’t go up as high as I anticipated. Those considering a change in wheels could give this baby a go ; )
