A taste of your own med…

Alriiiite…so our firm’s Bi-Annual trip destination has been announced. Most of us were hoping for Bali or Phuket or at the very least Bintan but sadly, we’re only gonna be making our way to Club Med Cherating : ) Don’t get me wrong, Club Med can be the most enjoyable place in the world to be but…*sigh* oh nevermind. For one, most of us have already been to Club Med in Cherating, some more recently than others. I guess im luckier in the sense that the last time i went was in 1999, waaay before their renovation & reopening. The best thing about Club Med is the food. The second best thing (for gals) are the hunky GOs : ) Third best thing is that everything’s already paid for so technically its free. Save for the drinks at the bar…

One of the BIGGEST corner warning signs i have ever seen in my whole life. About 10 times heeeug-er than the average Joes. Captured when i was finally not driving, on a dusty track somewhere in between my bf’s hometown and the airport town of Sepang : ) Check it out! It’s almost as tall as the electric poles. Just thot i’d share this with u… ; )

Last weekend i washed my car twice, no thanks to the wet & dusty weather. Fancy a spa for your car ? Head on over to Carnauba Autospa then : ) I tried it out coz it was only a few feet away from my office hehe… It wasn’t bad, ya. A wash for my car only cost RM15 (plus vacuuming) and with every two washes you get one free. They’ll give you one of those privilege cards like the type they used to give out at Coffee Bean & Starbucks. Plus they have a waiting area with air-conditioning, free drinks (coffee, tea, milo, OJ) and Astro. When my car was done being washed i went out to see this foreign stranger standing beside my car and admiring the insides. First i thought he was admiring my Goleos ; ) but then he suddenly asked me "Is this your car? Its a very nice car. How much did you buy it for? What’s the top speed?" Erm…to which i answered "Yes" "Yes" "About RM114k otr but if u want the 2.0 model its about RM123k" and to check the top speed i wanted to look at the speedometer to check the highest number but suddenly i realised it was a digital screen. Doh, idiot. "I dont know. I havent maxed it out yet". Then i quickly got in & drove off. Weeeirrrd…go to Honda Malaysia and ask them lahhh. Man oh man oh man they’re launching a new Accord !! The current one is already such a beauty, if only i could afford it : )

Tomorrow doesn’t matter…

I’m engaged !!! On the phone, that is : ) Hehehe…gotcha there didn’t i? ; ) Some people have been asking bout that rock on my finger but that’s not an engagement ring, hehe. It’s a birthday present from my other half 3 yrs back and I’ve been wearing it all the while. Don’t be fooled by the rocks that I got, im still im still not engaged or married…

Psst : joeeey has a beautiful bouquet of flowers in her room which she’s not telling us about…thanx for the seremban siew pau, sweetie ; )

In today’s edition of Golb*bloG, you will find the latest updates on health, fashion and beauty….a 3-in-1 of sorts, so to speak : D

Stuff I did on a Wednesday evening…

HEALTH ~ went for another round of physiotherapy - doc says the injury is likely to recur : ( so I should participate in exercises that build upper body muscle. Whaaaat?! She advised me to join a gym but I seriously don’t think so. I never exercise and the only form of sport I can actually admit to doing is swimming. Well, luckily swimming will do. I bet the people in the condo I used to live in were alwiz wondering who the heck that crazy chick in a bikini was paddling around in the pool at 7am hehehe… (gotta beat the pool traffic rush hour) What’s the point of joining a gym? I probably wont go & wont have the time to go anyway. Weekends are alwiz spent running around doing stuff I cant do on weekdays and weekdays are alwiz spent well, working. Working till the cows & treadmills & personal trainers come home…

FASHION ~ went to Bangsar to shop for a dress. I really, really hate driving to Bangsar & Sri Hartamas. Reason being coz they’re alwiz so full of cars u cant even find a space to double park. Even all the tiny back alleys are dotted with cars. I had to drive through every street almost 5 times before I could find a space to double park. Stupid. Anyways, Blöök was having their sales so I thot I’d look around. U know, be Looked at hehe… anyways I didn’t find anything there that tickled my pansy. Used to love Blöök so much but I don’t know why I cant find anything nice there anymore, be it the Bangsar outlets or the Hartamas one. So I went to Cozen & bought a dress from there instead : )

Im really poor yah, so I don’t shop at designer outlets ; ) But if you think that I deserve to, kindly forward your donations to me and I will give u a hug in return *LOL*. I seem to be buying a lot of dresses lately. U know the drill on dresses, once u’ve worn them, u cant exactly wear them again…so I suppose every girl faces the same problem. My fave dresses are from Eclipse by Sonny San. Affordable & pretty ; )

BEAUTY ~ went to have my hair washed & trimmed. I alwiz trim the ends once they reach the point of no return, not necessarily on a monthly basis : ) There are approximately 10 hair salons in the vicinity of my house so don’t ask me why I’m alwiz fussing with my hair : ) Well, it needs a lot of fussing about anyway, with all the damage that has already been inflicted mueheheh…

Im phobic bout cutting my hair (now gsc is too rite?) coz upon a time, the stupid stylist cut my hair too short without my permission when I went to get it coloured. She probably wanted to save on dye coz hair that was defined as "long" was charged the same anyways. At that time I had just spent hundreds on straightening my hair and it went all the way down to my waist. I allowed her to take max 3 inches off but she cut it all the way to my shoulder. I was traumatized for days and vowed never to go back there. Oh, and btw the salon is Thomas & Guys in Melaka and the lady boss (what the heck was her name???) cut my hair. She also told me and my friend that we shouldn’t become lawyers coz lawyers cant earn any money. Maybe I should open a salon instead…

The Devil’s Advocate…

I swear that some people are such fckng bstrds they must have originated from the nether regions of wherever that’s spouting them. Im talking about Sexually Transmitted Whore Diseases, the worse of its kind. These Sexually Transmitted Whore Diseases are so full of themselves that they think they can defy the law and yet use it to their advantage when their so-called brains have no excuses left. They have not long forgotten the ethics of law, but instead know its every principle so that they can shamelessly cite that they are not in breach of it when they very well know that they are, on a backhand.

These morons are so petty that they can go on and delay for however long they like as long as they can keep pointing their fingers at you and convincing their clients likewise, blame you for all the delay, wash their hands of everything and childishly make erroneous demands when something they hear is not to their liking. I’m not talking about people who are genuinely mistaken, but the Sexually Transmitted Whore Diseases that have the cheek to mislead their clients and act all innocent and you-are-the-one-who-should-be-put-in-jail-for-this-mess when they know that their pockets have been leaked from a different source. Oh sorry to step on your tail, but i knew you said that coz someone told me. Duh.

I’m not saying that im the mighty superior queen of all goodness and that im anywhere near damn good at what im doing, but it takes a blind man with no ears to not know that what these Sexually Transmitted Whore Diseases are doing is obviously and plainly WRONG. Oops, hit the buzzer. And im not gonna put up with this kind of disease. Coz its just WRONG to do so. So, just do us all a favour and go buy a vowel.

Stars are blind…

Even though the Gods are crazy, Even though the stars are blind, If you show me real love baby, I’ll show u mine… *gasp* Paris Hilton sings !!!

And another one bites the dust…or so they say, hehehe. Was at Chaisern’s brother’s wedding over the weekend and had loadsa fun! My mum and sis were invited too. The bachelor nite was on Friday, and needless to say there was an endless flow of booze, larfter & photos. I was happy : )

Saturday morning was the tea ceremony and we woke up bright and early to join the groom’s entourage to pick up the bride. I was also the voluntary camera-babe with my Handycam happily shooting like a pro *snigger* Self praise is no praise – if u don’t say it hehehe ; ) I believe that moments like this should alwiz be recorded on tape, coz 10 years down the line u may kinda know what u look like in 2D, but how did u sound like, walk like, sing like etc? Hmm…also it was for probable reference purposes since im the next one in line muahaha. Weddings are alwiz fun. Tiring, but fun.

Saturday evening was the dinner, and it was one with a tinge of difference : ) The venue was not a hotel, and the food was really good. And there was more booze available than usual at weddings hehe… In their ickle town, just a tiny speck on the map of Selangor – the seafood is great (how great? Even I dare a sample of some of it! And I don’t normally touch anything that swims. Except ducks, of course…hehe) and the people probably drink more booze than in any other place in Malaysia (once upon a wedding, they’ve finished off 40 crates – not bottles, crates – of Martell !!). Weddings here also start exactly on the dot, so don’t be late…or u may just arrive after the bride ! : )

P6240498

the bride & the groom

P6240530

the bride & the groom to be?

P6240491

with my sis & mum : )

P6240533having the cake but definitely not eating it too…

To prove my point on how much the people here drink, even after ingesting like 100 glasses of bottom-ups on the rocks at the dinner, it is tradition after the wedding for the guests to head over to the groom’s house for another round of drinking ! So it’s no wonder where I honed my drinking skills hehe…

In my last post I mentioned how everyone was gonna be asking us when its gonna be our turn bla bla bla. The funny thing was, the first thing most of the guests said to Chaisern when they saw him was "Congratulations !!!" Muahaha, they thot it was his wedding instead of his brother’s !! Don’t ask me why…so after a while he lost his coat to look less dressed up : )

Sunday was time to say goodbye, with members of the out-of-town family & friends heading back to their own destinations after a yummy bakuteh brunch : P We stayed on til about 6 in the evening before taking the 2 hour drive back to PJ (yep its that long!) When we reached back we wanted to try out that café in Damansara Perdana of the website that hosts this blog’s namesake ie. Friendster Café, hehehe… ya I know its been open like forever but I never attempted to go due to the corny name : ) If im not mistaken they even replicated the friendster smiley logo once, but perhaps due to a potential trademark infringement they painted it over with this instead :

We didn’t have dinner coz we were still full in the tummy from all the food back at CS’ home, but we tried their coffee and desserts. Sorry to say that everything we had was NOT good, even the coffee. The prices Cetakrompakwere slightly higher than our better-known coffee outlets and the service was mediocre. Hey, the coffee logo even looked like Starbucks. Check that out for originality. Bleargh…I don’t see what’s the attraction of this place save for its name, no offence to those who frequent this place, ya. Sunday nite, as expected all of us fainted straight into bed.

Jacinta, out (ala Seacrest, out on American Idol heh). My…name…is…Earlmuahahaha…

I had a back day…

Italy 2 - 0 Czech Republic (hehehe…im a secret fan of the Azzuri so im glad they won : )

It’s finally Friday again. My back is getting better, although the pain still lingers. It’s sorta like an everlasting backache. According to the physiotherapist, the soft tissue injury will take about two weeks to heal so til then, i have to contend with the pain. Thanks everyone for your well wishes and thoughtfulness ; )

This weekend will be attending my boyfriend’s brother’s (can i just say my bro-in-law?) wedding at his hometown in a faraway part of Selangor - bad back or not. Do i really have a choice? : ) His wife’s wedding dinner was held in Kota Kinabalu (yep, she’s a KK lass) last Tuesday but both of us didn’t attend coz of the weird timing. Well, luckily we didn’t decide to go anyway coz it would have meant wasted tickets with my back injury. I’ve been to KK once before but i think that it’s a little too quiet for me, i prefer Kuching : D miaow. As with all Chinese weddings, I dread to hear what everyone’s gonna say at the wedding : So,when’s your turn? Elchh. It’s sooo predictable.

From the back we move to the legs ~ i have just bought and tried this new Veet hair removal product : Veet In-Shower Hair Removal Cream. Im one of those people who just CANNOT shave my legs, coz my middle name is ingrown hair : ( So i’ve tried about every single depilatory product in the market and am still searching for the perfect one. My previous favourite was the Veet Cold Wax strips and they were good, but the whole process just took too long. And it takes Creams_inshower_lrgforever to wash the oil from the wipes off. I also tried the Veet Rasera Bladeless Razor but the gel is so strong smelling it’s like pouring ammonia on your legs. Plus it takes almost five washes before you can rid your skin of the gel and even then the after-feeling lasts for a whole day. However, i really like the new in-shower gel product. It saves the most time amongst all the products (almost as quick as shaving) and it washes off just like that! And it gets rid of the hair too : ) So, yep. I think i’ve just found my new favourite.

Back at one…

MAN OH MAN OH MAN and I thought I could just waltz here into my office on Monday morning and blog about how I enjoyed the weekend, how good FnF3 was, how if I had racing tyres (and cars) to spare I would learn how to drift too, how I finally managed to buy the tickets to the show at Cineleisure on Friday nite, how if I could I would kill the person who invented credit cards coz it helped me spend more money on clothes (working ones ie. A suit and a dress – you can never have enuff of them, rite?), shoes (my suspicions were confirmed that Vincci is selling its shoes in Aussie, Singapore & elsewhere under the label vnc – mine were vnc not vincci and originally priced at AUD 49.90 after scraping off the correction fluid. hmmm…) and accessories (enuff handbags already, enuff !!!! there’s no more space for them !!) I have to learn to start saving already what with my car and home installments already costing me RM2,xxx a month, minus the renovation and furnishing costs. But that’s another story *sighs*

But what was to happen on Sunday nite? I had to have an upper back sprain. More specifically, a muscle spasm. Too much housework? You tell me. Time to get a maid then. Oh yeah…I can’t afford one. As I was watching the Japan vs Croatia match and ironing clothes at the same time (and I swear, that was the first match I’ve watched this WC), I suddenly felt a sharp pain at my right upper back. Okay, okay so it wasn’t while I was ironing. It was when I was happily ironing and saw a pesky cockroach fly into my room and caught it with an empty Pringles can and was shaking the can vigorously about when I felt the pain : ( It hurt so bad that I couldn’t lift my arms or turn my head. Determined to go to work the next day and assuring myself that it was just a temporary cramp, I put the can and iron away and went to bed super early.

At 1.30am, I woke up and felt the pain more than ever. It hurt so bad that I was determined I needed medical help. I had difficulty even trying to get out of bed coz either side I rolled on hurt like mad. Finally I managed to drag me out of bed, changed my clothes and drove myself (yes, drove myself. It was hell more dangerous than ever coz I couldn’t turn my head to the right meaning I was just playing a guessing game on the road. And if you’re wondering where was my other half all the while, for those not in the know - he works in Singapore and comes back to see me every weekend. It was Sunday nite so obviously he wasn’t here anymore). Back to my story, I drove myself to the nearest 24 hour clinic. I had to make several U turns on LDP coz I wasn’t sure where I could Soccer_mcfind one and finally when I found the one and only I missed the turning to park : P Ooooh-pid. The doctor gave me painkillers and a heating rub and made an appoinment for me with the physiotherapist the next morning, plus an MC for Monday. Football fans watching the matches that nite would have lurved to be in my place. I was on the other hand apprehensive bout how I was gonna break the news to my boss who was probably gonna think I was just another case of football fever.

Finally thanks to a good therapist, two rounds of physiotherapy, repetitions of neck exercises and plenty of rest, I’m feeling much better this Wednesday morning and have managed to coerce my being to work. Ever heard of the phrase The mind is unwilling but the flesh is even more unwilling? I know I have to be extra careful in the future coz back injuries almost always recur. I still have further appointments with the physiotherapist if you’re wondering so I’ll be fading in and out of work. Lastly, I’m never ever gonna take mobility for granted again. If this pain was just a muscle spasm (and I have a pretty high threshold of pain) I really don’t wanna know what a proper injury feels like. And yes, it still hurts even whilst im typing this : (

This has been hell of a year for me. And we’re only halfway through it. Lord, please give me strength…

Thank God it’s Flyyyy…

Flyyyydays are just so fly : ) Weekends are the only time we can ever catch up on our beauty sleep. Weekdays we’re all beasts haha. Tomorrow i wanna go watch The Fast and The Furious : Tokyo Drift, the gwailo-nized version of Initial D. That’s why last nite after work i went to Cathay Cineleisure to get the tickets since their phone lines appear to have gone bust (engaged tone to the infinite), their online ticketing system has not been set up by their IT team yet and they have a drive-thru ticket counter. How nice. When i got there, not only did i realise they had no drive-thru counter (or rather it has been blocked by a whole row of sports cars parked up in front presumably for the premiere of the movie i wanna watch), but their their box office was closed for the day. Dammit. And to think i drove all that way : P

Rumour has it that Elaine Daly herself is supposed to be joining our firm. As a chambie. Hmmm…methinks it is more unlikely than not not (double negatives equal a positive) Buttt, it may just be a rumour. What’s not rumour is that Cheryl Samad graduated together with me from uni, although she didn’t attend classes together with us coz she was an external student. We shared the same graduation ceremony though ; ) Right, my coursemates?

Ikea_friends_visa_cardToday me and joeeey applied for another credit card (and gold ones at that muahahaha) coz it gave great privileges from Ikea, had a five year annual fee waiver and gave us a cute welcome gift. Check mine out ; ) i can see joeeey larfing now… Goggles

There’s something very funny about people with Banglish (that’s Bad English and not the new Bangla language) and blogging. Haha…like a friend once said, people with Banglish shouldn’t blog. No, what am i saying? No, they should blog. Yes, they really should blog. Otherwise we won’t have our alternative stress-relieve reading materials when we need some good fun ; ) Keep it up, blonggers ! hehehe…

Itsy bitsy teeny weeny…

I bought a bikini from Watson’s yesterday! And it was pretty cheap too : ) I know what you must be thinking : A bikini? From where?! And when i said Watson’s i mean the personal care store and not one of those unknown swimsuit boutiques. I already own three other bikinis so i don’t even know why i bought this one apart from the fact that it’s cute & cheap ; ) I mean…i don’t even frequent the beaches and hardly have any time (or money *sob sob*) for a beach holiday : P What the heck. There’s alwiz the swimming pool : D

Woke up earlier this morning to send my sis to KL Sentral. Someone’s going to Bangkok !!!! Arghhhh…and her elder sis is just sitting here in the office, too poor to afford a holiday of any type - even Hong Kong !!! : ( I know…everyone’s mad at me coz i cant commit to any trips at the mo. Though i’ve never been to Bangkok…ya should consider going at the end of the year. Chatuchak is juz heaven for shoppers! And they’re even having the Thailand Grand Sales on now. Oh well…if u can’t beat ‘em (and u can’t join them either), u just ask them to buy stuff for u hehehe…

One two, buckle my…

I’m baaaaack… : ) Miss me? Wondering what i’ve been up to? Wonder no more…

Saturday, 10 June

Woke in the morning to pack all my stuff before driving to Jalan Ipoh to pick the wedding suit. Missed the shop the first time coz the sign board read Taiwan New Vision Sdn Bhd. Sigh…told u they couldn’t make up their minds. Drove back to PJ to pick my sis up before heading back to Malacca. Hit the highways and it was prime time jam the whole way back. Not supposed to drive above 100 kph in a new car? No problem. Was only doing 10 kph most of the time, and at times i could’ve just put the car in P gear (that’s Park, not a vulgar word ya. though i can think of quite a few) ; P By the time we reached back it was 6pm. Played with my very very cute 9 puppies (awwww they just make your heart melt!!!) for a while before taking the family out for dinner. After dinner went for the movie Cars, which was very very cute and very very funny! Much better than many animated productions (except Shrek of course ; ) . I especially liked the tractors and pit stop bit : D

Image021 Image023

Dog_011  Dog_041These lil darlings are up for adoption, ya. There are 5 females & 4 males. As of todate, they have no names ; P We only plan to keep a few so for anyone who’s interested in them please do let me know. Wanna find them a good home ; )

Sunday, 11 June

Went to church in the morning and took the family for lunch before heading back to KL in the evening. Was dreading the same jams of the day before, but the highway was surprisingly clear! Talk about WEIRD. Once we reached back to KL, me and my sis went for a complimentary Indon massage at a spa in a hotel near the city centre. Much needed rejuvination and pampering for my achy breaky body. Dropped by A&W for dinner (i don’t know what’s my obsession with A&W these days! i’ve been driving to that restaurant in Taman Jaya at midnite even. Must be the rude beer!! hahahaha) Then it was back home and time to unpack and re-pack again!

Monday, 12 June

Couldnt wake up as planned at 5am coz slept real late the nite before. And no, i wasn’t watching footie. Managed to catch my 8.55am flight to JB just in the nick of time hahaha…as usual. Parked at KL Sentral and took the ERL to KLIA. Image053Reached KLIA with only bout half an hour to spare before the plane left me! Was in JB to help monitor our firm’s branch office there for the last 2 days : ) Checked into my hotel at lunch time, then went to City Square for lunch. The office has a lovely view of the causeway, btw :o) After work, as predicted (hehehe) i went over to Singapore for a short while. Had dinner at Orchard Road with my boyfriend, window shopped a bit and then headed back to my hotel for my much-needed fluffy-pillowed comatose sleep.

Tuesday, 13 June

Woke up and packed all my stuff to get ready for check out. My stupid credit card has been acting up these past few days so i requested for a new one. In the past 2 days i managed to read both the June 06 issues of Female and Her World mag cover to cover. Female is much better, spank u : ) Lunch was spent eating and then window shopping at City Square for a full hour then back to office for me : ) Finally it was time to leave and i made my way to the Senai airport where i took the 18:44 flight back to KL. The waiting area of the airport has improved a lot since i was last there. Then again, the last time i was there was almost a year back… Reached back home and dropped off to bed almost instantaneously : D

Ahh…life. Im no globe trotter, but i sure trot around quite a fair bit in my pointy-toed heels *ouch* : ) = YWMMWO = (yawning with my mouth wide open)

Rolling, in my…

And another week rolls along by us just like that. Sighs…where have all those hours, days and weeks gone? No wonder the Japs work 7-day weeks. Today is Friday and i normally love Fridays but today’s kinda dull. My life is a morgue. Will be driving back home again to Malacca tomorrowMelakahiway Negeri_melaka_1but before that will need to pick up my boyfriend’s brother’s wedding suits ?!! from Jalan Ipoh. That famous wedding studio Taipei Paris or France Taipei or Taipei Francois or something. They cant seem to decide on a name. So don’t expect me to do it for them. I don’t know, personally i prefer the ones along SS2…the gowns are much more modern looking and don’t have that Barbie doll-taffeta look and feel. Reminds me of someone who had a gorgeous gown from Bill Keith. But it’s not my time yet. For one, i don’t have a visual of my dream wedding dress. But i’d definitely love a veil : ) Bear in mind that i said wedding. Not engagement, not marriage. They are different. In fact, i don’t even think i’m getting engaged before i get married ; )
