Here comes the bride…

No, no…not me! : ) Not til next year at least ; )

Many people seem to be getting married this year. I’ve already been served with 2 summons and one upcoming for 2 weddings in December and one next week, which I will be attending. Oh, and not forgetting one in February next year, but that’s next year (which will probably usher in even more weddings). My friend said that it takes at least a year to plan a wedding, and if i thought planning and doing stuff for my new home was tough - wait til i start planning my own wedding.

With all that said and done, i figured i may as well get started now then. Originally we planned to hold the wedding somewhere early or in the middle of next year, but looking at the one year time span now i do not think it will be possible. So i’ve set a realistic date for somewhere in December 2007, which will give us ample time to plan and (hopefully) be able to book the venue on the date of our choice. All this is ironically said when im not even engaged yet haha. I dont think im ever getting engaged, i mean what’s the point? An engagement is nothing more than a romantic notion - a mere verbal contract, a promise to marry. But i’ve seen too many people break up in their engagement stage and that scares me a little. So it’s get married or nothing haha. No offence to those who believe otherwise, i know how sweet it is when the guy of your dreams finally pops the question on one knee ; )

Financial wise, after spending so much for our new home we’ll also need to start saving again. And it’s not gonna be easy coz it also means saving for a honeymoon - and i already have specific plans about where i’d like to go : ) And even scraping the honeymoon off the list - the banquet hall booking, bridal photography et al is gonna be costly. But the worse bit i guess is not so much the cost. It’s more of the shopping for the perfect photo studio, hotel, the photo shooting process (which apparently takes up your whole day from morning til nite), finalising the guest list and the whole planning process altogether. The thing about Malacca is that there seem to be only two places u can hold a reception - Equatorial (#1 on the list) and Century Mahkota. And i dont really fancy either coz i’ve attended too many weddings there already. Gawd, i sound like im getting married tomorrow.

Anyways, congrats to all my dearies who are tying the knot soon. And to all those who have been asking, yes - my reception wont be in KL unless the guest list explodes of course. And anyway, I know all my KL frens are looking for a reason to come down to Malacca hehe. Right, joeeey?
