Pups & peeps…

Packing til 3am is not fun.

Another real quick one coz im still rather busy, i only got back to Malacca yesterday after trying to pack and complete doing everything i was supposed to do within the few days prior to it. This is me packing light. I witheld from bringing everything i liked. So I only packed along my work clothes and some casual ones but i filled 2 suitcases with just my work clothes : ( okays, now i will admit that i have a lot of clothes but am always suffering from the nothing to wear syndrome : )) As a friend puts it, girls have a closet full of "nothing to wear" Hehe…believe it or not i actually managed to squeeze in another 3 pairs of jeans, 5 pairs of shorts and about 20 singlets and tees (i had to leave the bulk of them behind *sobs*), my undergarments and a towel into those suitcases. I didnt bring a single dress. Hmm…now im wondering if the wardrobe im sharing with my bf will actually fit all that hahaha. He told me yesterday that he might need to get another one after i told him about the 2 filled suitcases. I was good, i only brought along 4 pairs of working shoes, none casual and the rest i suppose i can buy there.

Have been very apprehensive about moving down south, especially within the past few days. I have to leave the comfort of my very own home behind, and i wont be able to drive my darling car to work every morning. Only time will tell if i will end up buying a car there as well (they arent as expensive as u think) or buying another flat there. And continue living my happy life as usual muahaha. Or maybe i’ll just come back to Malaysia once i think im rich enough (though i doubt the rich enough bit will ever happen for me. who the heck ever believes that they’re rich enough ?!) Anyways. I have to go. I dont have a job here anymore.

And back in Malacca - i arrived back late evening yesterday and was exhausted. I only have 2 days to do everything i need to do as I will be driving down to S’pore tomorrow morning. But its time for a puppy update !!! They are the cutest things ever and thanks lots to friends who have asked about adopting them : ))) They’re just about 3 wks old and are still a little young and tender to be separated from their mummy. So i will keep u informed on when we can let them go okies ; ) And for those who have been asking, they are mixed breed but i’ve always kept mixed breed dogs (not that i cant afford the pedigree pups, just that the mixed breeds alwiz seem to need a home more - no one wants to keep them) and they have proven to be the most loving and loyal of dogs. Well, we dont prejudice against humans who are of mixed blood so why prejudice against animals right?

So til my next update, i shall continue playing with the puppies and rush about with all my errands y’all : ) And nope errands do not include going online to update my blog ; P Hope i’ll be able to update my blog soon on the new life that awaits. Take care everyone, and hope u have a good weekend !!  xoxo

On a rush…

Just a quick one to update on whats been going on the past few days, as im still rather busy with stuff. And yep, i am still in PJ although im meant to have gone back to Melaka already. Looks like i’ll only be able to drive back tmr…

Monday i was rushing about in the morning first to get some passport photos taken since i’ve fresh run out of them, then to MPPJ to pay my parking summons (yeah, i’m summons jinxed it just will never change until im not driving anymore). After that i headed to Ikea and The Curve to buy some gifts and to check out the quote for ribbon printing for my wedding favours. I spent quite a fair deal of time at Mutiara Damansara since i was meant to drive to KL to run more errands but it was late and i didnt wanna get stuck in the jam. So i just carried on shopping : )

Im very happy as i managed to snag an extremely gorgeous pair of bridal shoes at a fraction of my budget price !!! I was already surfing the Manolo and Jimmy Choo websites for shoes, mind u ; P I also spotted a very nice MNG bag which i told my sis about and which she promptly bought for me as a birthday gift! Thanks babe. (Her response was on her birthday, she wanted to see the bag which i would give her labelled Gucci. Okaaaayyyy) ps: i love Bottega Venetta bags btw if anyone is thinking of getting ME a gift hehehe *hint hint*. The MNG bag would be perfect for daily use and work use whilst roughing it out on the public transportation in Singapore hehe. Although it IS white. Oh, and I had dinner with my sis and her boyf last nite.

                                       A whiter shade of gorgeous : )

Tuesday which is today, again i woke rather early to the sound of my phone ringing. It was my dad asking me when i was gonna go home : )) So i decided to drag myself out of bed and then made my way to Bar Council first to serve my notice of cessation of practice (yippee?) and the to office to pass some stuff to Pei Lyn. Promising to meet her for lunch, i then went to Pasarakyat to buy some coach tickets for the days on which i would be returning to or from Singapore. Then i went back to the office (actually, former office) and met up TPL, LKN and TKJ for lunch. Yep, unless you’re from our firm or formerly from our firm you’d probably be scratching your head til it bleeds wondering who the hell those initials belong to : D

Then i made my way to Lake Gardens to check it out as one of my shortlisted spots for my outdoor bridal photography but it was pouring cats and dogs so i couldnt go down let alone see the road signs. Sigh. But TKJ has drawn out a map for me on attractive spots : ) I went to an optician nearby my home to buy new contact lenses and a coloured pair as well. Then i came home, created a bday message type thingy for my other half as his bday is tomorrow and went online at a nearby coffee place to upload my artwork hehes. I came back to check my mailbox and saw that i had received a card from Yien!! Upon opening the envelope i realised that it was actually TWO cards - one a bday card and one a Good-Luck-On-Your-New-Job card which i thought had a very funny caption : Hard work never killed anybody, but why take the chance of being the first? LOL. Thanks dear, it was very sweet.

Birthday wishes in different forms : )

So u see, i’ve been devilishly busy although im not at work and tonite i seriously need to start packing my stuff as i’d like to spend a few days back home with my family before i head off to the land of fake lions this weekend and begin my new life on Monday. Sigh…

3 short of 30…

First and foremost, big fat wet and sloppy kisses + bear hugs going out to my dearest darling friends for your birthday wishes : ) Where would i be without all your calls, text messages, emails, and friendster messages & comments to keep me smiling ; D Thanks a mil my baby dolls !!

Finally i get the chance to take a breather and jot down the events that have taken place on mah 27th bday (hence the title - 3 short of 30 hehehe) At the end of the day i thought - Wow. I actually did manage to accomplish quite a fair bit of stuff today…

In the morning we went out to buy Chaisern’s pressie from me first. His bday is 4 days away from mine : )) And at first i though of making it a surprise gift but then i thought again ah what the heck. So although i highly do NOT condone grown men sitting down and submitting themselves to childish games of any sort, i figured one wouldnt hurt since i have already banned the PS2, PS3, Xbox or any other game console for that matter from our household *evil grin* Anyways, i got him a PSP : )) Yups, what a freaking waste of cash isnt it ???? But whatever keeps him happy…(and also since i cant get to spend his bday with him this year)

After a quick lunch we rushed off to KLCC Convention Center to watch the My Fair Lady musical that was playing. All in all it was actually quite good, although it lasted from 3pm til 6pm with just a 20min intermission in between. My only complaints are that unlike the Esplanade, they still allowed viewers in even halfway through the show. So you get dark sillhouttes blocking your view every now and then. Oooh, and they didnt check out bags for what we were carrying OR stop anyone from taking photos in the theatre.

KLCC Convention Centre Plenary Hall             Fairlady of a different sort : D

We headed to KL Plaza for dinner at the most unusual of places, this little Greek/Meditteranean joint called Moussandra. The food wasnt all that bad, and not very pricey as well (2 tapas & a main plus alcoholic drinks cost us just slightly above RM100) We were meant to go to Trader’s Hotel at first since it was just next to the Convention Centre, but since i had already eaten there for a good 3 days previously, we decided against it. I really had no idea where to go after racking my brains for the farewell meals hehe. And i had no more energy to search really. So something different was very welcome : )

After dinner we rushed of to Midvalley to run some errands and at the same time check out if they had any more Spiderman 3 tickets. The next show was at 12am so we went to Amcorp Mall instead where we managed to catch the 9.15pm movie just in the nick of time. Spiderman 3 was really good!! In fact i thought that it was the best Spidey movie yet : )

P5200724   And to cap off a very long and rushed out day, Chaisern bought me a little marshmallow brownie from Coffee Bean for the traditional wish making candle blowing : D So in the last few minutes of my bday, we had cake and wine yeah in our very own home. It was really sweet.

                   P5200726

*Phew* Now that was a very long day wasnt it? : )) And to make it even more tiring, this morning we went over to our bridal studio for my gown fitting : )) I was quite happy with the results actually, they have some really pretty gowns, but we werent allowed to take pics so i cant post any of them here until after my photoshoot : D I was allowed to pick 2 wedding gowns and 2 evening gowns for the shoot. Amongst others, i picked a very gorgeous back lace up Carven Ong white gown and a bold red Keith Kee evening gown. We will probably be taking our pics in June since the photographer wont be around in July and August would be too late… please stay tuned for updates : )

Gurrrls day out…

P5180723                                                                Today was rather hectic but very interesting, sorta like a countdown to my birthday celebrations cum farewell party hehe.

The morning was spent cleaning my house but at lunchtime i made my way out to have lunch with Gowri at Secret Recipe in Pusat Bandar Damansara. I drove to her office since i was already off from work and since it would be easier than for her to get out since she didnt have a very long lunch break : )

Then after that i went to the hair salon to get my hair treatment done. I have just re-coloured my hair yesterday since the roots were showing and well basically i figured coloured hair would look better for wedding pics. I know, i know, it makes my hair look dry but then when has my hair not been dry? Anyways.

Lee Wee, Jacinta, Eileen and Joanne *hugs*

Dinner was at Delicious in Bangsar Village 2 with Joanne (Lim, whom i havent seen in ages!!), Eileen and Lee Wee : )) It was good to sit and laugh so loud everyone stared at us like in the old times muahaha. Then we walked around the streets of Telawi abit before finally settling down in Starbucks for tea. The chocolate cake and brownie we had was rather heaty ; ) We were yakking so long and loud i didnt realise it was already 12am. So when my phone rang and it was Pei Leen calling me to wish me Happy Birthday, i said OH thanks !! I actually forgot it was already my birthday hahaha…

P5180728

What a nice way to end the nite : D Thanks gurls for the lovely day.

I am so gonna miss everyone so badly… : (

Thnks Fr Th Mmrs…

Today marked my last day with LHAG and i have to admit that it’s very difficult to leave so many nice people and my comfy life here behind. Thanks to all my colleagues for the friendship and support, and thank goodness for Friendster so we can all still keep in touch ; )

My darling colleagues brought me out for both a farewell lunch and a farewell dinner.

Lunch was at Bisik, and almost a UM alumni gathering but it was so nice to be seated with the people whom i met in uni and are now also my colleagues. Too bad it didnt happen more often & that it had to be at my farewell : (

P5160723 P5160724

Thanks loads to Fice Bee, Gaya, Kah See, Yeow Han, Hima, Kavitha & Liza for the lunch *hugs*

P5160728  Dinner was with another bunch of colleagues at Jarrod & Rawlins, Damansara Heights. Non-halal food *oinks* and wine at its best ; ) We got there at 8 and stayed til about 11, had lotsa fun chatting and exchanged hugs in the end. It almost made me teary, and i felt extremely sad to leave.

To sum it up, today had to be one of my best days ever being surrounded by good people. Unfortunately its also one of my saddest days  : (

I will be missing everyone dearly. *sobs* Please take care and keep in touch !!!!

Awww-struck…

Another one of my dogs had given birth to a litter of pups just in time for Mother’s Day : ) The pregnancy and birth were unintentional, we hadnt gotten the chance to spay her yet when my parents suddenly realised she was going into labour!! Anyways, she has the cutest litter of pups ever. Four pups - 2 white, 1 black and 1 white spotted with black/brown. Three males and one female. Once again, im going to have to find homes for these pups, so friends - please, if u want a dog or know of someone who wants a dog, please please tell them to get in touch with me or my sis okies ; ) Below are pics of the pups and u can click on them to enlarge the image.

2 days n 4 kids…

This is my second last day in the firm and im having mixed feelings about leaving, i suppose as does everyone who has been in the same place for some time. And colleagues asking me not to leave is not helping much either. Have been busy preparing my file status list and all my file transfer forms and signing signing signing til my hands ache. Anyways.

Have also been complaining to anyone who cares to listen about me having to leave my relatively comfy life over here to downgrade myself again, all in search of a better income. Haha, it is very ironic isnt it ? But i suppose every cloud has its silver lining so im gonna wait til i actually start over there before i start pulling my long face : )

Still on that note, thank goodness im going anyways. Im so broke i dont think i can ever be mended. Haha. And May being the birthday month that it is isnt really helping my financial situation out ; ) Anyone who took a peek at my credit card bills alone would probably shriek like a banshee and then there’s my bank balance. Where has all that ca$h gone to now? I dont think i live an extravagant lifestyle, in fact i think its the very opposite. Im almost hermit like. Well, almost : P

Sigh…enough of depressing news for now. Let’s take a breather and focus on someone who’s doing quite a bit for the orphans of the world, Angie : ) Read up what Angie has to say on being a mother and another recent adoption, an interview with Reader’s Digest - HERE. Oh and this is for those who want to listen to her voice as well hehehe. Link forwarded to me by Li some time ago but i’ve only just got around to reading the whole interview (its pretty lengthy). I remember how Pei Lyn or Anushia once mentioned that Angie is the only female that straight girls are allowed to have a girlie crush on ; )

Weekend of threevents…

I was back in Malacca over the weekend for 3 things - a cousin’s (or niece, rather : )) wedding, Mother’s Day and my granma’s 100th day. I only left KL on Saturday morning and reached Malacca sometime in the afternoon. Thereafter this broke vainpot went to the hair salon again to get a wash and blow but ended up with a cut as well : ) But one that i liked so i didnt really mind. Just a trim with layers, nothing drastic. The woman who did my hair was the owner of the salon (Cut & Curl) and she was giving me tips and explaining to me that she also did bridal hair & make up the whole time that she did my hair hehes. Shall consider…

Angel & Jared’s Wedding

A few of my family members and i attended Angel’s wedding dinner at Spices in Century Mahkota (also the hotel i will be holding my dinner at the end of this year, so this was a great time to gauge the food, service and deco) The bride and groom tied the knot in NZ sometime late last year and are currently residing in Christchurch. Angel and i are related but we also shared the same class in 6th form before she got a scholarship and flew off to NZ : )) Below are some pics (though some arent too clear coz we were seated quite a distance from the stage) Congrats to the new Mr & Mrs van Echten !!! Angel, u looked beautiful ; )

Mother’s Day

In conjunction with Mother’s Day me and my sis brought our whole family including my aunt out for a Mother’s Day buffet high tea at Equatorial’s Rest House. Although the buffet wasnt very expensive at RM40++ per person, it was quite a disappointment as the buffet spread had to be one of the most miserable i’ve seen in my whole life, coupled with the fact that the food wasnt good at all and the waiters took their time in replenishing the line. Safe to say, that would be our first and last time there. What a let down for supposedly one of Malacca’s better (or best?) hotels.

Granma’s 100th day

We dont do the traditional Chinese prayers and all but we did visit her grave to pay our respects and put flowers and light candles. There were heck of a lot of mosquitoes at the graveyard though, and it started to rain halfway so we couldnt really spend much time there. Sigh…i still really miss my granma.

It was again, a tiring weekend and we ended it with driving back to KL - the traffic was surprisingly smooth, which gave us an idea on how many kids actually went back to visit their mums for Mother’s Day : S and last nite we watched Cages, which was shot in S’pore and was quite a good movie but which we felt it was better suited for Father’s Day : ))

Im really tired and in not much of a mood to blog today ; )

Happy meals…

And i dont mean those from the golden arches : )

The time has come for another round of foodie ventures as my turn has come to bid farewell to friends and colleagues.

Papa Chop Mama Grill 1Papa Chop Mama Grill 3

Last nite i had dinner with an ex school mate, who coincidentally also owns a unit in the same condo as mine : )) She bought me dinner at MC&PG (strangely enuff i’ve never eaten here altho its practically at my doorstep haha, and NO that is NOT an abbreviation for Male Chauvinist Pig) and we sat down to chat about old times, current times and wedding preparations. It’s so good to meet up with old friends again, especially when so many of us have left our hometown and made our way to someplace else in search of a job and a life. Thanks so much, Luan. For dinner AND for all the wedding tips. I dont know what i would have done without u!!! The next time u and your hubby are down in Singapore its my turn to buy, okies ; )

And today my boss bought me and my team mates lunch at Ciao as a farewell gesture. We did originally plan for dinner so that we wouldnt need to be in such a hurry, but well, plans get changed. I have been here previously for a friend’s wedding, but not for a normal meal : )

Anyways, 5 of us headed there in my car and all of us had the set lunches (RM40++). The thing about their set lunches is that u help yourself to the appetiser at the buffet table. And they had A LOT of appetisers. Needless to say i was so full after the appetisers i was struggling with my main, which was only fettucine carbonara yes. And dessert. Oh well, overall the food was okay. And for once, i think we actually managed to have some fun and keep talk of work completely away from the lunch table ; ))

Fettucine CarbonaraPanna Cotta with Maple Gelee

Im so full now i can barely keep my eyes opened. Thats why lunch is a bad idea *yawn* Stay tuned for more foodie ventures… (well at least 3 or 4 more within the next week)

Happy feet…

My feet have been aching for the past few weeks, worsened by wearing high heels and my recent walkathon stint in S’pore. I have been wanting to get a foot massage or reflexology for ages but never got around to doing it bcoz i couldnt find a place, some places were too expensive, and some were closed when i got there. I finally did it recently.

I discovered this massage place in Pasarakyat when i recently went over to get some bus tickets. And the foot reflexology was going at pretty cheap too, only RM24 for half and hour. So i said, what the heck let’s just give it a try ya. And so try i did. I was seated outside in the open so dont get any funny ideas.

All the masseurs were Chinese nationals so i did my best to avoid conversations in my truly broken Mandarin by playing with my mobile phone. However, the massage became extremely painful at some points - so painful that i couldnt even concentrate deleting my text messages! I swear, there was nothing soothing about the massage.

The thing about our feet is that they apparently signify our various internal body organs as shown in the diagram below. Therefore if it actually hurts at certain areas of your feet, there could possibly be something wrong with your internal organs. If that is true, then im doomed. It f_cking hurt everywhere !!! ; ((
